1- Coronation Bridge

 

 

Coronation Bridge, Bagdogra

 

 

The Coronation Bridge is located around 37 km from Bagdogra and is located towards the way to Doors and Kalimpong / Gangtok on National Highway 31. Also known as Sevoke Coronation Bridge, it was built in 1930 over the Teesta River at the merging point of Teesta River and Rangeet River. It was built to celebrate the coronation of King George V. The bridge is very close to the Sevokeswari Kali Mandir in Siliguri and the build is in the British architectural style.

 

2-The Science City

 

Science City or The North Bengal Science Centre is a very well known institution of Siliguri. Situated at Matigara towards the northern side of Siliguri, the Science City is around 20 km from Bagdogra. It has a Nature Interpretation Centre and a planetarium that showcases the natural assortment of the region. Besides, there are different types of astronomical shows being shown in planetarium. The Science City is the perfect place for educational tours.

 

3- Surya Sen Park

 

A popular picnic spot for locals, Surya Sen Park is located at Mahakal Pally in Siliguri, around 16 km from Bagdogra. An eco-friendly place for all kind of entertainment and fun along with awareness about alternative energy sources, the park offers an exhibition on alternative sources.

It also has a bust of freedom fighter Surya Sen installed in here and offers wide range of facilities for children. At night, the park is decorated with coloured lights all over the park.

 

4- Madhuban Park

The Madhuban Park was established by the Indian Army and is situated around 24 km from Bagdogra, in the vicinity of Siliguri.  The park is a very popular picnic spot as well as a tourist spot. The place is the home to various animals like deer, peacocks and rabbits. Plus, wide varieties of butterflies can also be found here.

 

5- Umrao Singh Boat Club

 

Located at Sukna in Siliguri, the Umrao Singh Boat Club is under the maintenance of the Indian Army. The club offers wide range of facilities for boating and other form of enjoyments. Boats of different shapes and sizes are available. Both engine fitted and pedalled boats are available in the club. Tourists can also opt for official guides and the club has plenty of tea plantations all around.
